A bit about the Gentle Rides Group
Think you can’t cycle? Think again!
Do you have a bike in your shed, unused and unloved?
We are a group of u3a members who cycle together every Tuesday. The emphasis is on gentle cycling. We ride for between 5 and 10 miles for about an hour around Beverley, avoiding busy roads and using cycle paths wherever possible. We try to include a cafe visit during our cycle rides....
....So, whether you’re part of Le Tour de France peloton, a British Olympic team member, cycle to work, to the shops or for simple leisure, consider joining us.
Here are some of things group members are saying
"Joining the group has meant discovering the local area and chatting to friendly people over coffee and the occasional bacon butty. It’s much more fun than cycling on your own!"
"The Gentle Cycling Group meets each Tuesday. Our two wonderful leaders, Adrian and John, pre-plan a route and share this with us several days before we meet"
"I love being out in the fresh air, cycling routes that are new to me, and getting some 'gentle' exercise, with a lovely group of people."
Where and when
We depart from various locations on Tuesdays at 10.00am from September until the end of May, and at 6.00pm from June to August.
All meetings are weather dependant. You just need to bring your cycle, a helmet, and cycle lights.
