Beginners Drawing

Our Drawing Group is aimed at beginners, but is also open to people wanting to refresh their knowledge/skills.

Attendees should bring paper and a range of pencils for the first couple of weeks; after that we will add charcoal and they would need to bring something to wipe their table and the floor where they are sitting.

Eventually we will move on to other materials including oils, acrylics, pastels and gouache.

Group members will explore drawing techniques designed to loosen up your approach to drawing in general. These techniques will then be combined with the basic principles of portraiture. The goal is to help you see more with your eye and rely a bit less on measuring. This helps inject more speed into portraiture, which in turn releases your own idiosyncratic drawing style.

Sessions will cost £5 per session, payable 4-weekly in advance. This includes tea/coffee and biscuits
