Groups

Our Special Interest Groups form the lifeblood of our u3a, providing members with opportunities to get together, make friends and develop new skills and interests.

Whatever your interests and enthusiasms, you are sure to find something to attract you...

...or why not try something new ? Most of our groups have spaces available, and would be happy to welcome you.

What Groups are available?

All currently active groups are listed below.

Indoor activities embrace art, arts & crafts, current affairs, dining, history, board games, languages, poetry and literature, music and quizzes.

Those with an interest in the outdoors will find cycling, natural history, sport, and various walking groups.

You can find a downloadable group list and a timetable of group meetings by clicking on the buttons below.

How can I join?

The easiest way to join a group is to find the name of the contact person(s) of the group you are interested in - they are included in the groups list below. Click on the Group Coordinator's name and this will open an email dialogue box for you to use.

A few groups currently have a waiting list to join owing to their popularity and logistical limitations with meeting venues.

Members are still encouraged to contact the respective Group Coordinator to register their interest.

If you do not see a group that covers a particular interest that you have, then do feel free to propose setting up a new one.

Please contact Groups Facilitator Shelagh Murray who will be happy to help and advise you.

Each group has its own web page, listed below,

You can modify the list by clicking on the blue radio buttons, which sort and filter the information.

Select the name of the group to find more information about what it does, time and place of meetings, and contact person(s). Click on any contact name in blue and this will open an email dialogue box for you to use.
